INTER HOUSE / INTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES & HOBBIES


The student community from Std. I to X is divided into two houses named Dragons and Dinosaurs. A wide variety of competitions which include elocution, dramatics, debates, quizzes, dancing, music, rangoli, art & craft are held regularly, to reveal the latent potential of each child.


Hobbies constitute an integral part of the curriculum for all the students from Std. I to X. Our staff train the students in Art, Athletics, Claymodelling, Dancing, Cooking, Collage Work, Painting, Dramatics and Speech Training. Students are trained in various cultural activities like Music and dance forms like Bharat Natyam, and folk dancing. Our students regularly perform Western music programmes for All India Radio.


Art Examinations - The School trains students for the Elementary and Intermediate Grade - Drawing Examinations, conducted by the Government of Maharashtra. The children are also sent up for Bombay Arts and Sports Inter-School competitions.




PHYSICAL EDUCATION PROGRAMME


The right kind of education should help the student not only to develop his own capacity but also to understand his own highest interest.


An array of co-curricular & extra-curricular activities complement the academic courses, to enrich the life of the school community, to develop physically, emotionally and socially.


Physical education is given as much importance as academics. All pupils are provided ample opportunities to participate in a wide variety of games. These include athletics, volley-ball, football, basketball, cricket, skating, table-tennis, carom & chess.


During Coaching Camps, held every year during Diwali & Summer vacations, intensive training is given to the children in various sports activities. Films depicting the major sports events of the world are projected to inspire & enlighten the students. The coaching is given by specially appointed experts & eminent sportsmen who have participated in National & International events.


All this motivates our students to strive for higher levels of performance. We are proud to proclaim that our students have won laurels in cricket. The Annual Athletic Meet is held in December. Mass participation encourages all to do their best in a spirit of healthy competition. Sportsmanship, co-operation & team spirit are fostered during inter-house tournaments held through the year.


The Maharashtra State Bharat Scouts & Guides : Cubs & Bulbuls is for Std. III & IV. Scouting & Guiding is conducted in Stds. V - X. In Scouting & Guiding there is a formation of Patrols and Scout /Guide Laws, promise, motto, sign, salute, knots, first aid and lots more is taught to the students & finally Testing & Presenting the Best Scout/Guide Award. Scouts/Guides also go for overnight camps & hiking. Talent location, Talent search and Talent development are very important aspects covered at SPRINGFIELD HIGH SCHOOL.




CELEBRATIONS AND FUNCTIONS


The Foundation Day of the School is celebrated every year. There is an impressive investiture ceremony of the Students Council. The office bearers take the oath of dedication and loyalty to the institution and assume office from that day onwards for a year. During the Annual Prize Distribution, both academic and non-academic prizes are awarded.


The Annual Sports is a gala event, hearts are held many day in advance. Eminent sports personalities are invited to preside. Their presence inspires our students to perform "faster, higher; better."


Other festivals like Id-E-Milad, Raksha Bandhan, Holi, Diwali, Christmas are celebrated with great enthusiasm.


National Festivals like Republic Day, Independence Day are also celebrated promoting patriotism in the minds of the young citizens of Future India.
